The Inacomp Story

Inacomp traces its roots to one of the area's oldest and most respected office products company - Lake County Office Equipment. Lake County Office Equipment was founded in the mid-40's by Robert Trombino, Sr., who was immediately joined in the family business by sons Jim and Robert, Jr. A few years after IBM's introduction of the micro-computer, the visionary sons established Inacomp Computer Systems, an affiliate of InaCom, in 1985 to meet the growing demand for desktop computing. Their philosophy was simple: carry major name brands at fair prices while providing extraordinary service to Inacomp Computer Systems' customer base: businesses and industries in northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin.

After eight years on Grand Avenue in Gurnee, Inacomp Computer Systems' business outgrew their initial facility, precipitating a move a few miles west to the Tri-State Business Park adjacent to the 1-94 corridor. The new 12,000 square-foot facility houses Inacomp Computer Systems' sales, service, warehousing, training and administrative offices.   Inacomp now resides at a new location in the same Gurnee Business Park, 1350 Tri State Parkway, Ste. 118.

Following Jim Trombino's retirement in 1994, the third generation of leadership in the family business was assured when Debra Trombino joined Robert, Jr., and Donna Trombino as a partner. An Inacomp Computer Systems employee since the company was founded, Debra has served in every aspect of the operation. This continuity of leadership assures the philosophy of the founders will guide Inacomp Computer Systems in the future.
